Holiday- Recovery and Conference Resort "Little Finland" is situated on the edge of Wagenborgen, within the municipality of Delfzijl. If going by car you will reach the city centre of Delfzijl in just ten minutes, in only 20 minutes you will come in the city centre of Winschoten and finally in twenty five minutes you will arrive at the hart of Groningen – one of the most sociable Dutch cities with its intensive nightlife.

 

"Little Finland" is located between Scheemda and Delfzijl at the motorway N362. It is situated at Hondshalster Lake which some thirty years ago was set up as an area for nature development. Thus, exciting pasture land, reed fields and numerous species of birds have been developing all around the lake shore during this time. Additionally, a considerable variety of trees and bushes are presented. It all turns this area into a good deed for both humans and animals.

 

At the edge of Hondshalster Lake there is a canoe route along with some good fishing spots to be found here. Furthermore, this area provides for marvellous opportunities for keen walkers and bicyclists. There is, for instance, the bike path Ems Dollard of the Public Dutch Cyclist Association running past "Little Finland". In addition, you can get to the ports of Delfzijl and Termunten as well as to the Fraeylemaborg in Slochteren, all of which are within cycling distance from "Little Finland".
